  • Notes
    • Stephen was a pilot during the Second World War and flew in the 105 Squadron of the RAF. On the 8th of December 1942 his plane (a de Havilland DH 98 Mosquito) was hit by flak during a low-level attack on the Den Helder docks in the Netherlands. He ditched the plane in the Waddensea and both he and his observer (Ernest Draper) survived, but were captured by the Germans and held as Prisoners of War.
