  Early Life A Jean Gillies was baptised 16th June 1760 in Glasgow, to David Gillies & Agnes Hunter (ScotlandsPeople), also visible at https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X1MN-YZ6. This matches the year given in the North Lanarkshire Archives (see 'Unverified Details' in the entry for Jean's husband William Mack. Also, a Jean Gilles was born to John Gilles and Margaret Ranking of Edinburgh, 25 Jun 1765 though this is a bit late given birth of first child in 1780.
