  Early Life Margaret Menteith was born on the 23rd of April 1611, to William Menteith of Randiford and Jean Bruce. Her lineage was pretty obscure, solved through The Red Book of Scotland1. This is the only source I've found to trace the continuation down to Margaret from Patrick Menteith of Randiford, who is mentioned in many sources2,3. Family Life Margaret married Sir John Henderson of Fordell, near Dumferline in Fife, on the 7th of February 1625, when she would only have been 13 (Sir John was about 19). Amongst other issue was Anna, who married the Hon. Archibald Stewart of Dunearn, a few miles to the east of Fordell, in Fife.
