  According to Commoners, of Grimdsitch in Cheshire. He is given as "William" in Commoners and "Thomas" in the 1619 Visitation of Kent. But I think more likely he was of Hertfordshire, which is geographically closer to Kent where Dorothy's husband Simon Bunce came from. See note for his daughter Dorothy where a Thomas Grimsditch of Much Hadham is listed. There it seems that Thomas Grimsditch's father was John Grimsditch (+wife Elizabeth). John's father was Thomas Patmore. Thomas' parents were Henry Patmore (d. 1520) and Dame Julianne Dutton (alive in 1550).
