Custom DOFsets

The following is a collection of customised DOF commands (aka 'DOFsets') to be used with Virtual Pinball tables. I have tuned them to my own setup, which is two short (88 LED) side strips and a single 11x44 rear matrix. The rear matrix is sized somewhere between what we would consider "SD" (8x32) and "HD" (16x64 or higher). My DOFsets typically have limited "graphics" for the rear matrix, usually just a logo or very simple image. These should look fine on SD and HD matrices, but if you find that something looks odd on your personal setup, contact me and I'll see if I can fix it.

How to use

Apply the codes as follows:

  1. Open one of the DOFsets listed above: it will open to a new page in your browser as a plain text file
  2. Some files have an accompanying image file - always named the same as the table ROM or cGameName in the table script - these should also be saved in your PC's DOF Config folder.
  3. In another browser tab, open the (DOF ConfigTool), log in, and go to Table Configs
  4. Copy code sections from the DOFset text file to the DOF ConfigTool, into the right-hand part of the page under Candidate Configuration
  5. Where the DOFset says '[Leave Empty]' make sure that section is blank
  6. Once finished, scroll to the bottom of the DOF ConfigTool page and click Save Changes
  7. Repeat for any other tables, then once you've done them all, scroll to the bottom and click Generate Config
  8. Open the downloaded zip file and extract only the directoutputconfig30.ini file, saving it to your PC's DOF Config folder (on my PC, it's C:\DirectOutput\Config). If you already have an existing file there, then rename it (directoutputconfig30.bak.ini, for example), so if you ever want to you can revert back to the old DOF effects

Once these steps are complete, you should find that for any tables that you updated, they will use my DOFsets rather than the default ones. If at any time you don't like a customisation, go back to the DOF ConfigTool, select that table, and click the "Revert to Default" button at the bottom of the page, then re-download your config and save as above. If you want to delete all my custom codes in one go, just delete the directoutputconfig30.ini file and change the directoutputconfig30.bak.ini back to its original name.
